I'm looking for ideas on an event we're hosting this Saturday to celebrate the unique joint community of dolls, robots, mannequins and similar. We have live DJ's scheduled throughout the day but have not officially lined up any contests, games or RP.
I have hidden several RP areas around the event, in hopes of explorers finding them, but now i'm wondering if I should also hide prize boxes there to push that along?
Also, seeing as how we are not going to all fit into any one category or fashion style, contests are challenging because best in doll, bot, etc seems pretty drole. I detest best in xyz color, especially when people are sporting highly primmed av's that are superior to most fashion-yet uncolorable due to mod rights. Since the contests aren't being pre-announced, (the point of the event is to come and see what happens- has worked well in the past for us), should we just do something befitting the style of the av's that show up?
Lastly, I need suggestions on fun, easy to play, text based games...The kind that could be explained with a one paragraph notecard for newcomers, that people don't have to camera hunt down things to click on, and ones that a simple Google search won't find the answer to. We're going to have a fluctuaing crowd for 12 hours, coming and going, of all skill levels and possibly not all English speaking. A few of us will be there the duration, to run things, and after five or six hours of just dancing and small-talking everyone up- we're ready to prop our lids up on toothpicks. 'Normal' contests won't suffice as there won't be any search listings for this event and again, while this is a niche community, there's going to be a lot of different avs show up- ones that don't even wear clothing due to armor/prims/plating.
