I am currently setting up a clothing showcase event and need to publicize that we are looking for a specific type of clothing designers/merchants to display their wares at the event. Can I make that announcement here? Or is there a more appropriate place?

You'd probably get more responses by posting it under job ops or services wanted, even special attractions.
Posting here would more about asking how to go about pulling off your event. Suggestions, strategies, that sort of thing.
