OK, new poll. I want to know what areas of RP out of the above selection are the areas of RP you want addressed most.
I know that was worded badly, but the coffee hasn't kicked in yet.
This poll focuses on the mechanical aspects of the RP.

I look forward to seeing the final outcome and how it all strings together. Just a thought....but is there any literature out there that provides a "backdrop" to what you're proposing. the useful thing for Gor (whether enjoyed or not is immaterial), is that the "mythos" was in place. If anyone has any knowledge of such, it would save you one hell of a lot of work, and leave only the mechanics for you to put in place. (also, again, a suggestion...owing to the number of Paradis posts, would you not be better off in the SL Games forum? People looking to create would then have a simple place to look where the likelihood is, that all the posts will be together.)

Probably wise, I probably need to cut the General umbilical.
I'm going to generate the backdrop with the assistance of friends. I don't just have a full plate with this thing, I have a full tray and waiters bringing me more.
Edit: The reason I've kept it here to this point is because it's not just creation of a game, it's primarily creation of an entire RP culture.

I'd love to know why your posts on this get to stay in General.

Probably because they ARE related to developing a community, not just a game. TO move them would suggest that every post on things such as Gor or Furry had to be moved to the games forum, too.

From: Corvus Drake Probably because they ARE related to developing a community, not just a game. TO move them would suggest that every post on things such as Gor or Furry had to be moved to the games forum, too. It's not of general interest though is it, and it isn't a general question about role playing - it's about promoting what ever it is you're doing. That's not what general is for, a distinction made between a general post about Gor or Furries and a project promotion, which is what you're doing, is that self-promotion gets moved as it should do. Yet none of your posts about this project have been. I find that perplexing.

They don't become promotional until someone comes in and starts saying how it's somehow an attack on their culture for another culture to exist.
These threads are tasked for information gathering from the "general" community, not shameless promotion.

From: Corvus Drake They don't become promotional until someone comes in and starts saying how it's somehow an attack on their culture for another culture to exist. What? I'm sorry, your train of reasoning really doesn't make any sense at all! From: Corvus Drake These threads are tasked for information gathering from the "general" community, not shameless promotion. And again. What? Looks like you've done a lot of that info gathering in General, so isn't it time to get a group forum where those that are interested can partake and the rest of us can avoid having you going on about it. I mean, that's what Neaultenburg (sp?) and a whole host of other community-centric projects have had to do. So I'm still perplexed why these haven't been moved.

Even then, I'd need to continue to gather information here. It's market data, and an idea on SL needs a market. We're still at an open enough stage for people to hop on and off the train at any time with it. The RP is being designed so just about anyone can take interest in it.
Are these posts harming you personally in some way that you find need to litter on them? Are you sitting there with your eyes taped open, forced to read them?

Discussion of your plans are better placed in "Event Discussion."

I will agree with that. Still, I need the poll data from General.
Edit: But apparently you're a ResMod and have decided otherwise.

Corvus, if you'd like, I can offer some space on my own little forum (see link in sig) if you see a need to move things off of the SL forum. I'm going through the back posts on this now and it's pretty interesting. Let me know if you need any help.

Hey Corvus -- interesting proposal.
I put in my vote for 'new economic structure', because innovative proposals for sims don't always result in a profitable enterprise. More often, tier costs force the endeavor into the red. If you can make this project economically self-sustaining you'll achieve something rare and interesting.

Well, we think we've achieved a level of economic balance by allowing people to use their own land as part of the main simulation. See "Zoning" in the outline post.
