Boots and pants

I want to make a boot with a shaft that goes midway up the calf, but which would normally be worn OVER the pants (i.e. an engineer/motorcycle style boot). Can this be done as a "shoe", or are the shoes always going to be under the pants? If so, I guess I'd have to do it as prims? Anyone have suggestions for doing it with prims?

Yes, the shoes will always go under the pants if you use only textures.

I'm not a prim expert, but from my understanding, most shoe designers get there by running around in the dark (or looking at other shoes by other designers and seeing how they do theirs).

Maybe someone else can help you with the prim part ...

You could try opening a pair of pants and saving them as underpants?
As far as I can tell, the underpants go under the shoes so it could be one way to get the desired effect..

Whenever I wear cowboy boots or other boots, all I do is make the pants shorter and tighter, it works!

I'd need to be able to copy the texture from the pants into my inventory, neh? As far as I can tell, that's not possible.



That only works if the pants are modifyable - not all of my purchased items are, of course.

Yes you're right sorry. I'm thinking you'd have to make some basic pants to wear as underpants under those boots :\

yep.. pants as underpants..is the only way this will work

that's what appearance sliders are for...

if pants are mod just slide the length up to top of boot and the illusion is that pants are under boots
