Tattoo Tutorial using PSP!!

Hey everyone,

I have been trying to make a tattoo on and off for about a year now and ea time i just want to pick up my laptio..throw it across the room and wash my hands clean of it..lol

First of all i use PSP..and i'll aways use it but i dont see very many tutorials on here about how to do things using psp

So this is what i do to make a tattoo so far, i find an image..i make it all solid white...i then make it transparent, then turn it into an allpha and save it as a tga file. now when i upload it to sl..it doesnt come out transparent it just comes out the solid white color and then when i try to color it black, i just see a solid black noobie lookin tatto. What on earth am i doing wrong!!! Im so fustrated..lol

I'd suggest reading the Alpha Channel guide stickied thread in this forum, at /109/32/80851/1.html for starters, to get an understanding of the general idea of what you are trying to do.

You might just need to get familiar with using Paint Shop Pro in general, and transparency and alpha channels in Paint Shop Pro, before trying specifically to make tattoos for Second Life. Possibly the Help function in PSP might be of use for that.

its really easy use one of the av templates
put the tattoo where you want it on the av
select only the tattoo and in psp pulldown selections > save to alpha channel
then save it as tga. when you up load it create it as a shirt or underwear texture.

it helps to use a seporate layer for tattoo it makes it easier to select only the tattoo
