Shameless plug: The New SL Chess Club - An awesome awesome place for chess players.

Great design: Avalon
Great design, what all club should be: Club Schmooze. It's empty most of the times (events are not 24/7) - but take the time to go there, the design and looks are awesome, like nothing else in SL.
