Considering that it is stating it is now 4:00PM and it's 4:00PM GMT right now I am assuming it is GMT. Eastern Standard Time in the U.S. is -5 GMT.

you mean on the forums? it's stating GMT time on the forums because that's the default and you haven't changed it.

To me, your post was at 8:11 am, and I live in PST.

SLT = PST
EST = SLT + 3 hours
GMT = SLT + 8 hours
So, 10am SLT = 6pm GMT
:)

If you are talking about the times as they show in the forums...you can change that.

Heehee, bunch of folks thinking the same thing beat me to it. :)

You know ... as confusing as all this is .. it could be worse.

There are places in the US that do not do the "time change shuffle" ....

For example, if you live in Arizona ... part of the year you are 3 hours behind the East Coast .. and part of the year you are only 2 hours.

And, part of the year you are the same as PST or game time .. and part of the year you are an hour ahead ...

Its enough to drive a body to drink .... if you can figure out when cocktail hour starts ... LOL

Well I don't see any reason why we shouldn't have several more pages of continued discussion about this. I think it's against forum policy to have a topic not beaten into the ground here.

Don't forget we have that stupid daylight savings time thingy here in the US. So the GMT=SLT+8 is only current until spring. Then it would be GMT+9? Spring ahead, Fall Back.....I ahte this stuff LOL But in any event, it will change twice a year for those who use real timezones LOL

Nope, they have it there too! So it's still 8 hrs ahead of us.

Not quite. GMT doesn't change, Ever! When the UK goes to daylight savings time, we just go to GMT+1.

SLT is the time reported in-world - it is also PST. Sorry for any confusion!

As far as the forum time - you can change the time in the forums to match your local time or any time zone by going to the User CP- Edit Options panel.

It could be worse. Imagine those poor souls like the ones that live in parts of the Florida panhandle that is in CST but they go to work in EST zone. You'd have to verify if they mean CST or EST.
