i was recently asked to describe second life to someone...where do i start.ive been in sl for about 4 weeks and been on it till my eyes bleed,i go to work come home and im back in sl again,it has completely consumed me to the point that its almost my first life.ive been a gaming nut for over 20 years mainly consoles.my biggest event of this year was going to be the release of the xbox360...not any more.i havnt played the box since i first discovered sl.i dont like to call it a game it seems to belittle the experience of sl but i never thought playing something would ever cause such emotions and feelings for the people in it.so when i am asked to explain what second life is to someone where do i start, for once im lost for wordsbut for me its probably the most amazing thing i have experienced.lived a sheltered life?far from it i just think its a testament to how incredible sl really is.i just wonder am i really a sado or are there other people out there who are totally in love with this game(and someone in it)as much as i am .

I totally love it, too. By the way - come down to the Photography Studio in Grignano as the next photo-making contest starts on the 10th! Anybody who digs creative fun would love it, I bet.

What I tell others:
"You know that great book you read when you were ten, or twelve, or fifteen, or twenty? That one where you lived inside the book, you BECAME the main character and you would rather live there than anywhere else? You know how you carried it around with you all day, even when you couldn't read it because other things were going on? Remember how you wanted the characters in it to keep living and doing things and you even attempted to write more life and adventures for them? Remember how deeply you loved that book and even adopted some of the attitudes and style and started saying things they said because you wanted to BE that certain character? Remember how you met other people who loved that book and you got together and recreated scenes or went to the movie together or just became best friends based on that book? Rememer how reading that book was like an out-of-body experience? That's Second Life." |

It's like the Matrix. It's a bitch to explain without sounding silly, but it's REALLY cool.

It's like the Matrix. It's a bitch to explain without sounding silly, but it's REALLY cool. The folowing help to understand... Unfortunately, no one can be told what the SecondLife is. You have to see it for yourself. This is your last chance. After this, there is no turning back. _____________________

Beats TV.
Even MTV. Not the new "Ozzie is lame" MTV. The old MTV. When people used to get mesemerized for hours. Makes old MTV look like new MTV by comparison. Beware those emotions tho. They tend to bite ya in tha ass. Harder than you might expect. |

It's a much safer hobby than playing Semi-Automatic Russian Roulette.
