What are you doing with them? All I needed before was the "share with group" button, and the new group tools havent changed it one bit. It is still impossible to collaborate effectively because you have to set permissions on all of your 300 objects with 4000 inventory items *one by one*. I guess it's nice to be able to send an object to an entire group at once.

I like that I can broadcast to the entire group without it being a voting proposal. I also like that I can assign different titles to people. This is good for city wide RP because then you don't need a separate group for say the cops, the rebels, the citizens, etc. You can put them all in the same group and assign them different titles.

We're re-working group roles in several groups that I belong to, so 'higher powers' like controlling parcel bans, access lists, terraforming, and the like can be doled out to more group members, while not having to give them full officer rights and risking that someone might sell the land out from under the group. It takes time to get it all set up right, however. I know one large group I am in is doing a complete asset check on all items on our group land right now, setting group tags and the like, to prepare for using group roles better.
We're also using the tools for sending ut announcements with attachments. That has been very handy!

We're heavily using the new group tools, although there's still functions that we dont have that we wish we had (Specifically - I wish we had control over who's objects can be set to group & avoid autoreturn) For the Shelter, we've got it broken down like this: -Owner (Sheltered Ambassador) - Only person that can now sell/release the land -Founders (Lars Bismark & Travis Lambert) -Officers -Volunteers -Event Hosts -Tier Contributors -Everyone This allowed us to do some neat stuff, like grant our event hosts the ability to return errant objects, or our volunteers to be able to right-click & freeze/eject troublemakers, and invite members to the group. It also allowed us to recognize those who have donated tier with a special title, and consolidate a couple groups (such as "Shelter Hosts" into one, among other things. The tools are a huge improvement, although there's still some outstanding improvements that could be made to make them even better.

I use them to no longer charge portions of the classified ads to others who happen to be in my shop group.

Similar to Travis above, we now have the ability to assign helpers who have the ability to eject/freeze/ban -- DJs who have the ability to set streams on the land -- and Events people who have the ability to build on the land.
Also for our residencies in Lusk Estates and Clara, we can allow those folks to virtually have all of the tools on their parcel as true landowners do. (Including planting linden trees and establishing access lists.)
I believe this was sorely needed, and it's definitely been an immediate help to us. I understand there was a lot of skepticism, and the idea that nobody uses groups anyways --- But this is simply not a universal truth.
These were a long time coming, and they are definitely being used.

I have managed to consolidate about 4 groups down to just one using the new role-based groups. It's now possible for land owners (full-access) to coexist with watchguards (return/ban privileges) and long-term visitors (setting home/no object return when in group privileges) without messy side effects such as casual visitors being nailed for group maintenance fees or unrestricted access to group-deeded objects.
One option I wish LL had opted for was the ability to disable a role from sending/replying in the group chat dialog box.

The notices and ability to give people more but specific permissions seems to actually strengthen the idea of group too. I think we'll see more active groups then we have before, because there's more of a sense of being part of a group then just having your name on the roster.
