I was asked by someone named Stella Watson to take a survey regarding shopping in SL at this URL: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.asp?u=32872514429I inquired about what the results were for and she answered 'personal research'. Anyone know what this is about? Thanks in advance

Dearly Darling Clarity,
Believe half of what you hear and none of what you see. I would not do a survey here unless I had a signed RL letter from LL saying that this person had permission to do a "personal survey" here. Even then I don't think I'd believe it. I've come to find out sometimes who you think is writing something isn't.... Just today I discovered quite by accident on the forums, if my RL workers don't actually sign off...who ever was on last is still logged on in the forum page. Just one more thing for me to check on in my old age.
Ever Yours,
Mrs. Showdog Tiger

Dear goodness. Here's some home truths:
* Anyone can do a survey anywhere. It's not illegal. Open your mouth, and start talking to someone, asking them questions. Freedom of speech. It's not just an expression.
* You're all over 18 and are supposed to be the quite competent guardians of all information in your life. Someone asks you if you shop in SL, you gonna release that info? Up to you? Someone asks you what colour your underwear is, you gonna release that info? Up to you again.
* If linden labs signed a piece of paper every time person A wanted to ask a question of person B, they would not have second life. They in fact would be a paper signing company, dedicated to that very task.
People, it's not good to outsource your thinking to others. You can figure this one yourselves. You know people have the right to ask things without someone else giving them "the nod" or any other type of nod. And you know you're not obliged to disclose any information. job done.

Though they are 'supposed' to be over 18 some are not..yeah I know not the point of your post but..thought I'd say something, just to be "smart-alec". This lady actually approached me too, in a very popular hair store. I ignored her and went about my business.

You said it all, Jsecure! The survey is innocent enough, and very well done. I think the person behind it has a background in advertising or marketing. It just covers your preferences about the shopping spaces you like and dislike, and then adds color to the same picture to see how the color of the spaces affected your feeling about them. ZOMG! They are reading my mind!!!111One!!!!
Never met a more paranoid bunch before coming to SL. It's like the whole place is full of tax evaders or something.

Sorry, but reread the TOS. You need LL's permission to do a marketing survey in SL.

I don't think its a big deal, the survey deals with marketing in SL, not the marketing of SL or actions taken by LL. I mean calm down, she probably just wants to create a positive shopping environment. It's called market research, and its the best way to go about creating a new business.

I'd say this is the most clever way to publicize the survey, post about the issue and everyone visits. Just Kidding. X

Mind u a good survey idea and i for one dont mind if im asked to do a survey, we are all adults here, well most of us and i for one dont need LL telling me who i can and cannot talk to with regards to answering questions Peace
