Don't know if this has been mentioned elsewhere (a search on BBC returned no matches) but I love the idea of a public broadcaster renting an SL island to run gigs and promote unsigned artists: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/4766755.stm

I know that I'll check the island events out as often as I can...
