I'm kidding torley , I promise I haven't gone over to the dark side. I would have phrased it something like "Durring this time we will be make small performance improving updates."

Ooo I read that again. I see how that could be read in a different way. As in, "Hey you, you increased my frames-per-second by three! Time for you to die!"

Allow me to translate, Torley. I think what Rickard is trying to say, in the best tradition of The New Yorker, is that the wording of Kelly's announcement was a little funny. Usually things that get "addressed" are problems. However, Kelly's post says they will be "addressing new performance improvements." It would hace been more proper had she said, "We will be updating the software to address performance problems," or, "We will be updating the server to impliment new performance improvements."

Thanx a lot for that explanation, Chosen. This is great... it reminds me of one of those guides to explaining Shakespeare!
(Next release notes should be in iambic pentameter.)

Well, Shakespeare was a genius, and so is Rickard, so I guess it's fitting.

What's the prefix for -punk in the 1500s-1600s? Like, the general association of how 1800s is steampunk, late 21st-century is cyberpunk or postcyberpunk, etc.
I'd like to call Rick one of those!

Speaking of Renaissance, I hereby request that as a last name, and/or declare that I am going to use it when we can make our own last names.

Whenever the grid is down for maintenance, I think of Lindens in Caltrans vests driving around the sims in bulldozers and cranes, re-texturing the roads and replacing bridge prims.
My theory is that when it takes longer than scheduled, someone breaks an underground prim line, and Philip has to come in and fix it.
