Part of it is the forum closure, and the other part of it is the ongoing pattern that Lincden Labs has exhibited of ignoring resident feedback on things like Open Registration, the snapshot tool, bugs that never get fixed... It is the last straw for many of us, who feel the forum closue is just one more way that Linden Labs can ignore resident feedback.

Some people are genuinely pissed at LL for a lot of valid reasons

If there was a choice between some people want to misbehave and final straw that's where I would be.... it's not the final straw but if things continue as they are I can certainly see the final straw from here.

my number one stick in the eye from LL is the firm wednesday update schedule. wtf

it's like an expecting mother pushing out a baby at 5 months because she is ready to have the baby not because the baby is ready to be born. just once I would like to see LL wait for a patch to be READY before introducing it to the platform

As for misbehaving, people are pissed for good reason, it's more blowing off steam than anything else I think

oh... and fuck all y'all :D

Yeah I didnt want to address all the other things pissing me off, just the big one....

LL could do well to hire and LEARN from a business anthropologist, the love machine has VD

yes it's more, basically ppl have had enough. LL won't listen, or even TRY to work things out.they're taking the money and 'running'.

How many times do we have to put up with the same complaints EVERY GODDAMNED WEEK?!?!!?

Simple........they have our money and don't give a flying (insert own choice of own anglo saxon expletives) at a rolling doughnut. Going by past performance they either :

a) wouldn't recognise any complaint as it's below them (they're the 'gods' in this world)
b) would sweep it under the carpet for another bug hiding there to eat it
c) don't give an anglo saxon expletive
d) are laughing on the way to the ATM to get there salaries

btw Philip.....i hope you missed your big toe whn you shot yourself in the foot with this one.....you need it to balnce properly so they say.....not that LL's been very balanced lately :(

While open registration could easily have been the beginning of the end, for me it was Phillip's "Tao of Linden" that really tipped things, and this announcement was the final straw. These moves are not those of a professional company dealing with paying customers. As said in Ferris Bueller, "I weep for the future."

As much as I like to think that the outrage that is going on is just because of the forums, I know it's not. I understand that there's a lot of unhappines with certain things, but we have to live in something that is provided to us first by LL, and second some of the changes that were made, were made to better enhance. For instance, the snapshot tool I feel is a lot more flexible, and headed in the direction that I would have loved to see snapshots. As for the Wednesday updates? Personally, in the middle of the week is the best time to update, I feel, it gives you two days to prepare after the weekend, and two days to deal with what ever changes before the weekend - as the weekend seems to be the larger day for entry into SL.
As I don't feel that LL ignores resident feedback, i think for them it comes in 10 trillions types of directions and in a manner that really does not help them (i.e. flaming, greifing). Something like this, pushes for the Vote tool to be used a lot more often to help ideas foster - I'm sure they pay more attention to the vote tool than the ranting that happens here.
