Well here we go, it's the end of the workday in Linden Lab and nobody there has said anything to the world at large so watch me grab my megaphone and shout it out: BURNING LIFE 2006 IS (un)OFFICIALLY OPEN TO THE PUBLIC! GRAB YOUR FLUFFY KITTIES, SWEETY-PIES AND FAVORITE FLY-SWATTERS AND TREK ON OUT TO THE DESERT TO SEE WHAT ALL THE CRAZIES HAVE BUIILT!!! There are twelve contiguous sims hosting 168 different participants and groups this year, bigger than any Burning Life event in the past! To get there, simply open the Map and search for Burning Life, and all twelve sims will be listed. Jeska Linden originally posted about this year's event here and more information about past years can be found at the history wiki here. In addition, Snapzilla's Cristiano Midnight has added an automatic Burning Life 2006 category for any photos sent in from the Burning Life sims, so take a look at both this year's and last year's photo albums to get an idea of what you'll find! You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll ask yourself why, why, why... so why are you still sitting around here reading the forums? GO!! and take a friend with you, or drag them out of their skybox and TP them to your favorite installation! Before you go, though, take a moment to bump this to the top of the list, since we don't have the power to create stickies ourselves. Enjoy! (disclaimer: posted to General instead of Announcements because this is where a post can get almost 2000 hits in twenty-four hours... tell me - go on, I dare you - tell me the forums aren't important to our community!) ...somebody tell me why i'm doing the Linden's PR work for them???

From: Mulch Ennui arent you a week early? You know, I wondered about this, but according to Jeska here, September 1st was their unofficial opening to the public. Having not participated in previous years' events (due to that whole not-being-rezzed-yet problem) I wasn't aware that it was limited to just the weekend of the burning of the man. Plus, well, hey, twelve sims full of stuff? It'll take a while to see all that!

Seems to be all happening here...
But where's the publicity ??
I think the only real mention I've been is an outdated blog form....
Bring on the people, plz! If we want people to enjoy it with us, then we need to let them know!!
Thanks.
