First land?

Hi. This is my first post, so please have mercy on my soul.

I searched the forum, but could find no notice that first land sales had been suspended. Yet for the past several days at various times during the day I've been searching the land sales, yes with first land and the PG & Mature categories selected and with neither price or area selected, and there's never any first land for sale. Am I missing something?

Thank you for your assistance.

Search for land with All Types instead of First Land and Area set to 512.

Click the L$/sq.m. if needed.

This will sometimes return more first land than searching for first land.

The supply of first land varies.

There was firstland when I last checked... and surely nobody would be stupid enough to buy lots of firstland...

Also, don't click the sq/m button thingo, firstland is always listed at the top anyway. That just brings all of the 16sq's people sell for advertisement boards up.

If you still find no firstland, just keep looking. I've found firstland sells fairly quick so if no new land has been released they may have sold out or something...

And a few tips for selecting land:
1- ANY land near or in the sea is more valuable than actual land... You'll be able to sell it for more and so it's the better firstland choice
2- Mature areas sell for more
3- Flat land pieces sell for more and quicker than sloped areas
4- Grassy areas sell for more than snow areas

So if you get a land rating mature which is flat, on the coast you'll get more when selling than a sloped snowy PG :)

Thanks for the responses and tips. This is day 4 when I've been checking almost hourly and still no first land available. :(

First land will show up again. These sell out periods happen rather frequently it seems. You should not have to check every hour. When they release new first land, it shouldn't all sell out immediately. Most of the time, there is first land available and it does last for a little while.

Also, I wouldn't bother checking again until tomorrow afternoon. The earliest that anyone at LL will be working on this would likely be tomorrow during LL's business hours on Monday.

Well, yeah... Towards the end of the weekend you expect things like this.

I'll keep an eye out too and IM you in-game when I see firstland released, I might also recommend a few lots that would be good to get... Though they may be gone by the time you get it :(

Anyway, yeah... I'll IM you if any comes available while I'm on this afternoon/tonight :)

I'm in the same boat, have recently decided that SL is cool enough I want to be a full member and own some land and have been checking the forums and reading about first land and it sounds like the ideal first step... except that there is none at the moment :( Just need to wait for LL to release some more I guess.

Thank you for the information. For some reason I assumed it was an automated process and they had the land all queued up or something and it was released automatically at specific times. I didn't realize they had to do it manually.

Thank you for all the help and for the offers. I appreciate it.

Hi Reverend,

We don't often completely run out of First Land, but sometimes it does happen - in this case we had a land baking problem that meant some regions haven't gone live as early as they should have. We'd hope this will be resolved today - so expect First Land parcels to appear very soon (by tomorrow at the latest).

Good hunting!

Check maybe every 4-8 hours at most, daily. First land does not sell out that fast. I'd expect it would take a few days for a sim to get sold out, slower if you go for PG land.

The sim I'm in which is PG took a few weeks to sell out.

When you find some land check out all the neighbours by right-clicking their land. I wish I had done more homework before buying mine. I think I could have guessed that the headquarters of 'Deluded Nutters Secret Army' was bad news ;) The problem is that when you go premium you're itching to get some land and there's not much choice.

Just a quick word of advice be as choosey as you can be. Like Jayson said.. look for next to sea or in it if you like. You get one shot at getting that land so cheap.. so be sure when you do you are happy with where it is. From here on in as you expand, move if you choose you wont be paying that small a rate again. :)

Good luck Rev. Have patience as you will indeed see some First Land come up soon.

Welcome to the addiction of land owning. :D

Very happy with my spot. When I picked it, it was kinda early so there were very few occupied lots. I looked at all the taken ones and checked their profiles to see who were good candidates as neighbors.

I picked PG so that I won't have to risk seeing three X's everywhere on the horizon. My intended products are all PG anyway so PG land was fine.

first land for sale
08-15-2006 19:15
there is a piece of first land for sale in gorguryeo (next to the irish cottage) that has a griefer object on it (invisible prim that emits red light) that is really pissing me off. Anybody who buys this land and deletes the objects on it will get their L512 first land purchase price reimbursed from me personally, not to mention my semi-eternal gratitude.

(and yes, i did file abuse reports with LL to absolutley no effect)

As opposed to an abuse report you'll probably get a faster response using the "Land Management Forum". Just report the Region and grid coordinates. You're bound to get a reply within a day from Guy Linden or one of the other excellent workers on that team!
