Most of your images on the front page of the site are broken :)

You need to make your website Firefox compatible, young man! :P

Firefox is rendering the text as images for some weird reason. I think it might be all those <frameset> and <noframe> tags. Man, use iframes and style sheets! They will get the same aspect and they'll work in almost any browser.

*blinks* *blinks again*

ZOMG!!! Lewis and I agree on something! Must be the forums closure having unexpected effects :p

Now seriously, don't use Dreamweaver. The only thing it will do is adding unnecessary overhead. And I don't think you'll need it much for a small website.

Plus, using Notepad you'll actually LEARN!!! Joy! :D

Frontpage is ok if its not the express edition. I used frontpage 2002 to make my site. worked like a charm. You just gota make sure that your images are linked right before uploading it or placing it in your web directory. make sure they arent pointing to someplace like C:\thisfolder\thatfolder\image.jpg. use short addresses like /images/ or ../public/images/ (those are all examples).

No, Frontpage is not ok, no matter how you look at it. The size of the HTML files it creates is plain horrible, and that makes your website slower. After all, not everyone in the world has cable speed access :)

As an example, here you have a CSS version I just made with Notepad. Took about a dozen minutes, and it is not optimized. This is the front index only. Don't click the link because it won't work properly :)

www.abismoderol.com/slclass/index.html

Works perfectly in IE and Firefox, adapts to different screen resolutions (though in 800*600 it will look like crap, as will almost every website in the internet) and, best of all, the three files together take only 2200 bytes, while the Frontpage version is more than 5000 (of course that isn't much, because the page is small).

And, even better, one can read it without having to wonder what a <v:textbox> tag means :D

Here is the code in case you want to reuse some of it, Axel:

Happens to me frequently.

Why do you think we have so many 'help guides' already over at http://sl.stratics.com ?

I wonder if they could all be centralized in a Wiki-like environment, just like the scripting wiki. But given LL's decisions to fragment things I somehow doubt they'd even listen...
