Is Nexus Prime still being developed? In my frequent wanderings through it, I often seem to stumble on new areas I havent seen before. What a sweet build. For anyone who hasnt seen it, Nexus Prime is the cyberpunk city in Gibson. Check it out.

We're always tinkering with something. Sometimes with more fervor than others.

Eventually I'll get back to building my power plant...

Does anyone know why Gibson is such an appropriate sim for a cyberpunk city to be in?

Am I the only one who has trouble with moving around in Nexus Prime? The first time I went there, I was promptly shoved into the nearby water by a security script. The second, I arrived flying and couldn't fly very well (it was like going through molasses) or land (I'd perpetually fall, despite being right over the ground). Another person there seemed to be having the same problem. The third time, I wasn't set as running, but when I showed up, I ran instead of walking. Not only that, but I couldn't stop or turn, and ran right into the ground and SL crashed. (When I logged in after that, I actually was able to walk around normally, much to my surprise.)

I've been in Nexus Prime many a time, and never had the problems you describe.

It's sometimes slow to rez, I think there's just a lot of prims in it, and the build is bigger than my draw distance, so I keep trying to fly out and finding something rezzing in my path, but nothing like what you describe.

heh, Gibson is an ancient sim, being used by the SL equivalent of Power Users.

I'm not personally aware of any security measures that would produce such an effect. I've always hoped that we would use llTeleportAgent where security measures were concerned. Where, specifically, did this happen?

As for other weirdness, Gibson was saddled with a pretty crappy server for awhile. Performance has often been less than optimal. :(

This was a number of months ago, and at the default place you teleport into upon looking Nexus Prime up in Find. There were a few people there at the time, so it might have been -- and probably was, given that you don't know of any security measures that would do that -- the fault of one of them. I do seem to recall getting some kind of "you're not supposed to be here" notice when the script hit. I don't think I was just getting smacked with a push gun (not that I know anything about push guns) because I climbed up out of the water and was bounced again in the same place.

While this may be true, it's not the reason I was looking for.

*hint* It has to do with the name of the sim.
