If you are having a disagreement with someone about a build who then says, totally out of the blue, "Good luck making your next .pdf file," what does that mean?

Is it a threat of some type?

Was their name Acrobat? If not, you have no worries.

It would certainly seem to be, but I would not put much stock in it. Are you having trouble creating PDFs now?

Brings to mind watching Jerry Springer. The offended parties lob the worst verbal threats back and forth - nothing ever comes of it, just upset people railing into the wind.

Similarly most bar fights, if the person doesn't knock you on your ass right away, they never will. Lots of jostling and shoving, waiting for others to intervene, then they really go nuts once it is apparent there are enough people to ensure no actual fight can occur.

Either way, it wasn't really a mature reaction.

Well, I assume that they're alluding to M2.

But unless they're aware of some crazy zero day exploit in Acrobat Distiller, I bet you're safe.

Sounds like an empty threat, Katt... I wouldn't be concerned about it. :)

Maybe they really meant it, and wish you all the luck in the world with whatever Acrobat document you next make.

Also, good luck with your next dinner party!

I'm not eating any Mexican food until I know it's safe.

No Mexican food where I live is safe. For that matter, anyone who has eaten Mexican food, and not taken Gas-X, be weary of them!

I'd say not - probably assuming that you'll do an article in your newspaper (a pdf file) about it .

Some people in world who are prolific posters about everything and anything say things to me and I tell them 'well why don't you go make a poll about it or something'.

I think its the same sentiment.

Kind of like a 'tell someone who cares' - I don't see it as a threat at all.

Sounds more like an attempt to be ironic, snarky, and condscending.

"hey, good luck with your fake newspaper", kind of.

Sometimes it's hard to sense sarcasm unless the Good Luck was followed up with a hahahahahahahahahaha or something else that could be taken as sarcasm.

Thanks for the input. The person was very hostile, and I honestly was scratching my head over that remark. Petgirl, you are welcome at my house for dinner anytime.
