If you look at the release notes under bug fixes you will see this:
* Avatar textures now take less time to bake
so if your selling easy bake ovens you should make a killing with this update.

"Baking" is the process by which all avatar textures are merged into one. Skins, clothing, tattoos, everything. This happens in your graphics card, so if your av looks funny, your graphics card may be dying. This new texture is then uploaded and handed out to everyone in range, so all of your friends will see your av crapping out as well. If you see someone who is taking a long time to "rez", it may be that they have a really slow upload. Whenever you change clothes/skins/tats/whatever... this process has to be redone from scratch.
