When's the last time LL gave us an update and it didn't backfire into a bug?

Yeah, Yeah. I know this is going to be another nagging post. But I know you all love to b!tch about it like I do and I am seriously curious..

When's the last time LL gave us an update and it didn't backfire into a bug [mostly with the asset server] soon after release? and I am talking about only a few hours after the grid goes back up after a patch.

For the past months everytime LL updates, we always get that cute little blue box that we all love later that day from a linden saying the grid will be closing down in 2 minutes.

Hmm. Comments?

IMO?

1.10

Some things didn't work quite like expected, but that update showed advances in most areas worked on with no major problems added to the que.

Dude, you are a true and good friend, and I love you like the brother that my mom claims she never had, but you are in fact acting like a flaming douche on white toast with a side order of dickknob salsa..maybe you should reconsider this course of action and we go find something else to do.

Oh and I know you're all dying to get back in. THIS JUST IN FOLKS.

Our technicians are currently addressing and working on a resolution to the presence information issue. We will advise an estimated time for the grid to be reopened as soon as possible. Thanks for your patience!

Happens to practically every MMO on the market today. Ever try to do anything remotely productive in World of Warcraft on a patch week?

I know there are always going to be bugs made. I was talking about specifically the grid having to go down the SAME day the update was released. It hasn't always been like this, as I remember.

Well that's the point isn't it...every week in SL is a patch week. I am curious to know though, do the developers of WOW fix bugs and things they broke in a patch right away?

If the bugs and broken things were fixed right away, and if the updates were not weekly, then I think people would not be upset.

and every patch lately leads to grid going down a few hours later.
Which makes me upset. Sure LL can update once a week. But they seem to be creating more problems than fixing.

Yes, and in WoW, every Tuesday they take the servers down for weekly maintenance, to the tune of about 5 or 6 hours.

No. They usually repatch a few days later.

I seriously doubt the last time has occurred yet.

I think that they are attempting to fix problems quickly but in doing so they dont put their patches through enough testing processes,.... and and the fact that they almost always patch mid day CST,PST,EST prolly isnt the best choice....

Exactly.

Have none of you experienced any other multiplayer realms? They ALL have updates, patches, downtimes. Sheesh.

It's an MMO. They all do this.
Of course, the others in the list above generally do not shut the servers down right after opening them for the day, the kinda include the bug fix into the following release, unless it's an exploit, then they make the patch, force you to download it, and life goes on. But man, this is almost DAILY anymore that SL is down or regions are resetting, or that the mere impropriety of combat can cause a SIM to CRASH! That's, um, well, not good. I would presonally like to see the regions MORE stable, and pay less attention to a friends list problems.

Actually when I intially registerred it was version 1.6 and reasonably trouble free, every release since then has resulted in bugs ....MAJOR bugs along with lots of shiny new toys that never seem to work quite as they were intended, anda lot of those bugs from 1.7 are still around and unadressed.
