During the past two grid attacks and an epsiode that happen last night at one of the club where several scripted objects were set off which caused my AV to be thrown out of the building, several items in my inventory are gone. In the past few weeks, I have lost a TV system which I paid over 2000 lindens for, a juke box player, a dvd player, and a HUD device. I have search my entire inventory and they are not to be found. I have the folders along with the note cards and textures but the devices are all gone. Is the anything I can do it get them returned. With all the missing items it is over $5000 lindens just gone. Now that is only about $20.00 but it is not the money but the principle. Why should I lose what I bought just because some griefer ruin the program for everyone else.

You could IM the creators and tell them the story, they might have some sympathy and give you a copy of the item. Have you tried clearing your cache and then searching your inventory? :(

This is an old problem and a very aggravating one. I once lost the entire contents of my texture folder, a loss I still feel to this day.

I thought perhaps storing items in prims on my land could help prevent that, but I just emptied a prim that was loaded with animations and the ones that had been in poseballs were all "missing from database" when I tried to rezz them. That was a huge loss that occurred just last week.

You could try messaging the creators of the lost content, explain what happened, and ask them to replace the lost item out of the kindness of their heart. Other than that, there is really nothing you can do except remember that the SL asset server acts up frequently and loses our content.

Check your 'lost and found' folder, check your 'trash' folder, try what Nimrod said and heres a link that may give you some info on what to try next /108/f5/105272/1.html

From what others have said sometimes items will show up days later, I dunno.....

George, before you IM the merchants have you tried clearing cache and relogging? Sometimes the issue after a griefer attack is that your client and the server got seriously out of synch. The server remembers you have those items but your client didn't update after you were blasted 5 sims away.

I bought a Personal Security HUD that is supposed to make it much harder to push me, but I haven't experienced a push attack yet to test it. Anyone know if it actually helps?

Unfortunately, there's no way for a user to back up items from their SL inventory - it would be nice if there was, but far too much of a security risk for LL I imagine..

George, it's an asset server problem. There are many, many, many people losing items. Myself included.

You won't get them back. The best I can tell you is to contact the creators and cross your fingers hun.

My rl fiance has a personal security hud. I remember she can be pushed (its just alot harder as it exerts a negative force to cancel out the push in laymens terms), and once she was being fired on, kept getting the 'you have died and been teleported home' notice in chat without actually going anywhere...
