Since they are a private company we may never know.

I would say they are really fucking up if they are not making money off SL. Snorting profits, outlandish saleries and tax issues is what kills many otherwise sucessful companys.

They could cut alot of overhead my moving their HQ out of SF.

LL is really bad at keeping secrets. I truely doubt they are in financial straights.

Guess I wasnt the only one who thought of that. ;)

Compared to where I live, SF is a SUPER HIGH cost of living. (Compare Pittsburgh, PA to San Fran, CA. )

The money they got from investors is probably just enough to turn on a light switch in SF.

Isnt a 'prestigious beachside location' supposed to be one of their big selling points or something? I seem to recall it somewhere on their website as one of the reasons they listed as to why they are such a great company to work for.

There have to be *some* perks ... if they have to listen to users whinging all the time AND leave SF, employee turn-over would be out of control.

And people wonder why this forum is being removed from a company which exists as a business... ~shakes head~.

- They just got 11M USD donation in March or so (8M just 2 years back)

- have real revenues of what, 3000 sims x 200 USD/mo (baseline, I'm sure it's WAY more) - that's 7 million at a minimum annual revenue, likely 2x or 3x that if you think how tier works.

- and have a whopping promising growth curve right now.

I don't think even Carly Fiorina could bring the Company to it's knees in six months.

These are the 'good old days' and the 'land rush' if ever there was one.

Like reality; If LL were hitting a 'great depression', It'll bounce back.
It's all a cycle.
