second free account possible?

I have been considering doing this for a while anyway and now that this security issue has come up I am facing it again. Wondering if it is allowed to have more than one free account? If I can't get the old one going for some reason I could start over with this new one. And, if the old account does come back ok I'd have 2 accounts...maybe make one male just to see what it is like (little experiment I have been considering).

Yes, you can have more than one account. I think I heard some rumor about a max of 5? Not sure if you can delete ones you don't want.

It used to be you paid an extra, one-time fee of $10 for all accounts after the first, but after taking away the credit-card requirement, extra accounts became free. (And I thought $10 for a lifetime alt was a steal!)

As for whether new accounts are locked down right now, I don't know. You probably could create an alt.

well, I tried to open a second account but they still make you pay. Only the first one is free. i'll be damned if I'm going to give LL $10 of my RL money and risk finding out that it won't work because I am not using my original password or something stupid like that and I have to wait till monday anyway.

Have any of you tried this today? Has it worked for you if so? Was going to change password question to something I would definately not forget but now am worried it won't work if I link it to an existing account because it isn't the same as the original password...hope this makes sense. I'd actually do it if I knew for sure it would work. LOVE SL and can't bear to not have it over the weekend.

I guess I'm a lucky one, I got my alt account free. They must have reverted back to charging for them.
