Blasting someone (shooting someone) - how much trouble can I get in

Ok,

The griefer stuff has gone a bit far, so time to counter the griefer, thus the ALT you see in front of you.

But before I shoot back I would like to know what kind of trouble I can get in. Not talking about max time (permaban) but what could I expect to happen if I hunted someone down, shot them, did a little dance, and then they (the griefer) or someone else reported me.

When I read the police blotter I think I saw that before someone is banned they get 'judged', is that right?

So since I am kind of digging on my ALT, just want to know how much trouble he could get in if he has so to go "frontier" on someones ass.

Thanks

LOL based on the rate the ARs are being dealt with right now and the fact that it almost takes a Linden seeing it first hand I have a feeling you can get in, have fun with the little bas...griefer for a couple days and get out before anyone even knows you were there.

Even if you are busted I don't think I have seen a permaband on the first offense. You may find yourself out of the game a few days or slapped with a warning.

Make sure you stay concealed as an alt, because if someone came around and harrassed one of my island residents that way, it would be instant ban from the sims for you.

And I'd tell a few friends if it was notable enough - you would find yourself banned from about 100 sims total that my friends own. Maybe not much in the grand scheme of the grid, but possibly annoying.

Let alone the possibility that your 'little dance' might resonate with some dozens of private island residents, who might decide to do a little 'frontier justice' of their own over the next few weeks.

So... stick to true griefer types and do your capping on the mainland, and keep your identity hidden. :)

Remember, if you hide your IP they can't link the accounts. *cough*

My own personal guess would be right in the vicinity of "jack shit" and "fuck-all", judging how they deal with most griefers.

This thread is being locked for Linden Review on the basis it is talking about breaking the TOS.

Torley Linden:
Thread remains closed. I've seen some avengers in "no angels" circumstances get in far worse trouble than the original griefer.

You can, of course, shoot someone's ass in a damage-enabled zone where combat's allowed.

Alternately, use time for revenge to do fun things with friends instead. Don't let the jackasses get you down!
