What real time is that, as in, if its Cali based, then its 8 hours behind the UK? Something like that? Im just facing the horrible possibility that I might not be able to play SL until 8pm in the evening, which besides making me cry, is likely to make me do horrible things such as redo housework, read a book, or shock horror, turn on the TV!
Please, tell me this isn't so. I dont think I could cope |

Whatever time maintenance is, it'll irritate a group of players somewhere in the world. It's just a shame that Europeans are usually those who get affected the most. Lewis _____________________

Hi Chloe... Well my wife found the solution... She is from UK too so she called me up and married me... I live in texas hence only a 2 hour delay. But Yes it is Califorinia time.

 The 'friends on-line' indication on the website isn't always accurate, especially in a grid shutdown. Your two friends were, most likely, logged in when the grid shut down. Since they didn't actually log out, they still show up as 'on-line' on the website. _____________________

Lewis You keep pointing out how "europeans get the short end of the stick" , but in all honesty it is a little self centered to expect someone in a timezone 8 hours away from you to have to work in the middle of the night so your "playtime" doesnt get affected. These people already start early (6am their time) so lets all just give the "omg we got the crap deal" type thing a rest and appreciate that they do actually bother to do maintenance and keep the servers running. They are doing it to improve your online experience rather then hamper it. Oh and before you go on a fit about this post , I am also from europe. _____________________

Where I work schedules downtime for 4am GMT and gets all the US/Canadian players fed up with us. Got to be done sometime or another.

And a disturbing thing a lot of people dont seem to realise is if LL does not do these maintenance windows , the servers _will_ grind to a complete stop very quickly. _____________________

Oh darn, still a while to go. Thanks for the responses. There really needs to be an offline option on the client, so I can 'login' and pretend I have friends. Wow, I must be addicted. Still not bored enough to help Cherry with her laundry though
Jenny, out of bordom I will respond to this though. Just because it makes sense, is rational, and cant be stopped, doesn't mean Lewis does not have the right to bitch about it. Seriously, it gives him something to do. And would you rather he be doing this or playing out in the streets where he could get up to "anything"? Oh my dear lord, the poor lad could end up in so much trouble. Get in with the wrong crowd, start fights, vandelise things, thats only going to lead to drugs and oh no, next hes burglerising your house! Down time is essential, we all need it. It means we can think about the important things in life, like keeping Lewis out of trouble |
