Make any changes to your current networking setup? Add a firewall? New router? CloakCard?
Did you accidentally prop up your 1/4th ton antique book case with your 8-ounce DSL modem?

I play(ed) SL from two locations. The one using Charter cable modem works like a charm. The one using a shared T1 through Bellsouth and ATT has totally hosed the past six weeks. Any of our traffic that routes through Dallas to San Jose, LA or San Fransisco, suffers an average of 10% loss over every sample.

Bellsouth has hacked at the line all this time and keeps blaming ATT. ATT has replied practically nothing. Are the telcos just falling completely apart under the load of cable modem, cell phones and VoIP?

I was getting in ok before. Now, I'm also getting stuck, quite frequently, at the verifying protocol stage of my login. I don't think I changed anything regarding my connection -- no windows firewall is running, no changes to my router or ISP, etc. I'm a relatively non-technical girl, and I don't really claim to know much about this stuff, but I do suspect there is a problem somewhere between my pc and 2d Life's servers....
