It's been real folks, but I just can't take General anymore. New lows have been reached, and I'm afraid I'm a part of that problem. General and it's guilty relatives (Land & the Economy, Off-Topic, etc) have always made me passionate, and I've made some wonderful friends here. More importantly, I've had some wonderful debates here. Have I crossed the line occasionally? Yes. Am I a wise-arse who truly loved the spirit and off-the-wall humor here? Yes. Have I been a genius here? Yes. Have I been a total idiot here? Yes. Have I laughed? Yes. Have I shaken my head at the occasional moronity? Yes. The fact is, General is a dead carcass at this point, and as the zero hour approaches, it's now like Keanu Reaves acting in a remake of Citizen Kane... just wrong. I've never done a "zOMG I'm leaving!" post before - but, zOMG I'm leaving! IM me in world, see you on another board, or whatever... even you, Cat Cotton. ...this has just become about as absurdly ricockulous as I've ever seen. I was hoping we'd go down in flames (metaphorically, not in the forum sense), Prokofy would be reinstated, and we'd do it in our typically classless form of class. Yes, the SL forums were harsh, but still, had an odd "class" to them of lines that wouldn't be crossed, standards be damned. Now, instead of intelligent debate, fun quips, occasional nonsense, and flaming that actually makes you think, we're making Jerry Springer and Maury Povich look like the height of culture. It's been real, and I've loved just about every minute of it. See y'all on the other side. Warmest regards, fond memories, over and out... enjoy the final Hasselcrotch ever. -Flip

Flip.. Thank you! Thank you for what you contribute in SL and for all you have taught me on the boards. I have learned from your posts and no matter how much you disagreed with someone I can't really recall a time when you were mean or vicious in your attitude. I relate to what you are saying up there. Now that it is painfuly obvious that this is a done deal here things have really run down hill. May you have fun on whatever (if any) board you decide to adopt as home. They will be lucky to have you imho. Take care.

From: SuezanneC Baskerville A: Rosebud is the SLed. And? He could probably handle that acting job if he prepared enough for it. (three seconds later...: ooohhhhhhh it's a pun... well my comment stands, though it was funny already )

From: FlipperPA Peregrine Now, instead of intelligent debate, fun quips, occasional nonsense, and flaming that actually makes you think, we're making Jerry Springer and Maury Povich look like the height of culture. You've got to be kidding me. I've seen blowouts in this forum that made today look like amateur hour. In fact, I'd say that the forums are positively anemic due to their imminent closure. However, I recognize that an exit based on a moral statement does give one simultaneously a sense of superiority and closure. If I weren't covered in feces from today's debacle, I'd join you. See you around. ~Ulrika~
