I just bought what I thought was going to be my dream land and now it seems like a nightmare. A picture is worth a thousand words so just land yourself at my new beach (Solway 147.152) and take a look at the beautiful advertisement tower that got put up in this nice water way. To top it off, it's on a 32 m2 plot of land in the middle that Linden sold to them. I'm just depressed but oh well, ain't much I can do about it! I could see if someone who owns a big chunck of land right there put up a building or whatever but it's beyond me why Linden would have a little 32 ms lot there knowing that it could really be used for only the sole purpose of what the new owners used it for. I don't blame the people that bought it. What else could they do with it? Sorry, just venting a little here instead of crying...

Well at first I thought it was going to be " those" signs that everyone is talking about but it turned out to be some type of copycat. Main difference here is that the tiny pot of land is underwater and was raised as high as it could go. The sign is even still underwater. Looks like it is for a business. You'd think they would realize pissing off potential customers would not be a good business strategy. Solway 136, 180

Found another one right down the water way. These folks just must not be thinking or something?

Quite frankly it's just like the assholes that cut you off in traffic acting as if they didn't even happen to see you but knowing full well differently
I own a business thats on a lake , in a large business disrict in fact and yet we STILL get one or two ppl on 512 Sqm that think hmmm this would make a great place to build my 'HOME'. They sell with in a week or realizing thier idea of suburbia just isn't going to happen there. and it DOESN'T help with the fact that several plots in area were released and then for some oddball reason Govenor Linden reinstates them as First Land! instead of using the proven method of adding them to Auction in larger chunks for the people who currently conduct thier business out of there and could benefit from it as well (not that I'm one to tell Gov Linden how to redistribute land) but come one 4 - 5 512sqm first land plots in an obvious commercial area just doesn't make sense, but then alot in SL lately doesn't.
So in summary it's a plain rude strategey for people to go into an area that's obviously residental, etc. and plop down the contrary on scraps of land to no ones benfit. Oh and let me guess, if they do sell that land is going to go for 14000L - 30000L per 32 Sqm

Solway is three sims away from the nearest telehubs. Telehubs, I'm told over and over again, provide de facto zoning that passively prevents our precious residential areas areas from being overrun by commercial interests.
So never fear bargain. That defacto passive zoning will kick in soon and your neighborhood will settle down to a quiet residential atmosphere.

Passive-aggressive zoning.

From: Khamon Fate That defacto passive zoning will kick in soon and your neighborhood will settle down to a quiet residential atmosphere. I first read that as "passive-aggressive zoning". You know, that's a pretty good description of zoning in SL. My unconscious is trying to tell me something. What do you call that, a reverse Freudian slip?

From: Argent Stonecutter I first read that as "passive-aggressive zoning". I suppose you might call bargain's neighbors "aggressive zoners."

I must admit to being turned off products if I have found the advertising methods in-world annoy me. A little post-it note in my brain that reads, "oh lordies, don't ever buy that product and/or from that creator/business." So in the end, these methods actually work as un-advertising in my case.
Un-advertising...con-advertising, disadvertising...whatever it should be called.
