Hiya, Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem? Today it seems I can't get on. SL loads to the point of the 'Connecting to region...' message, and never gets any further. I thought it was my computer at first, and I've done a virus scan, adware clean, disk cleanup and a defrag, but nothing's changed with SL. Can anyone help? I've posted this in technical issues as well. Thank you

Have you done an uninstall and reinstall of SL?
Have you made it in yet?

If you have the choice of where to log in to show when you start you should pick a different spot. If that's not showing, go to preferences and make it show. I imagine you have tried logging in at different places by now but I suggest this just in case.
If you have a preview grid installed you might try uninstalling that as well. I'm not aware of current problems this would help but it won't hurt to try.
Conceivably you have a firewall problem - try deactivating your firewall for long enough to give it a try. Might try disabling anti-virus and anti-spy for a few minutes. If disabling all your protection allows SL to work then turn them back on and do whatever the particular protection programs require to tell them to leave SL alone. If you are familiar with your protection programs you can skip the turning off step and just make sure that none of them are interfering.
Possibly you need to open some ports in your router settings. You might have set them at one time and the settings got lost.
Do you share a connection on a network? If so you can try bypassing the network and hooking the internet connection directly to your computer.
Are you using a wireless network connection? If so try to connect wired.
