I would like to take a small poll prior to placing a $L250 Classified ad.
If you could please help by answering the following questions:
1.) Have you searched the Classifieds?
2.) Have you ever teleported to an area prompted by viewing a classified ad?
2a.) Did you purchase anything and thought about purchasing items when you were there?
3.) Have you placed a L$250 Classified ad?
3a.) Did you notice a reasonable increase in traffic and sales as a result of the ad?
3b.) If you have not placed a classified ad why? Would you if the "issue" you have was resolved?
Further Opinions or observations in regards to classified ads.

1.) Have you searched the Classifieds? Yes, but I found it horribly cluttered and not organized
2.) Have you ever teleported to an area prompted by viewing a classified ad? No
2a.) Did you purchase anything and thought about purchasing items when you were there? No, see above - I have never gone to anyplace after looking at an ad
3.) Have you placed a L$250 Classified ad? No
3a.) Did you notice a reasonable increase in traffic and sales as a result of the ad? No, see above
3b.) If you have not placed a classified ad why? Would you if the "issue" you have was resolved? I feel they should be organized by Date and I will not look at them again until they are. I would purchase an Ad if they were ordered by Date, and if they had catagories
Further Opinions or observations in regards to classified ads.
I Use Find Places and search Find Places when I am looking for something

I can testify first hand that the New Products section works well. I have a few ads I rotate newer products on and the sales for those items during the time they are listed does see an increase.

If you could please help by answering the following questions:
1.) Have you searched the Classifieds?
Once. Accidentally. I was sent into a reading sezire looking at all the AAA1 bullshit.
2.) Have you ever teleported to an area prompted by viewing a classified ad?
No. Hell no. If someone even sends me an unsolicited TP, I will accept it, and drops a few dozen sim-killing scripts that become incredibly herder to track down with each reboot. Two club owners had thier club pwned.
2a.) Did you purchase anything and thought about purchasing items when you were there?
Well.... I dod what I usually do, make fun of people. Before pwning the club.
3.) Have you placed a L$250 Classified ad?
No. People who matter already know how to find The Badass's Table
3a.) Did you notice a reasonable increase in traffic and sales as a result of the ad? Yes. But only because people think that being a Stupendois Badass is a birthright, instead of a privelage. 3b.) If you have not placed a classified ad why? Would you if the "issue" you have was resolved? It's full of spam and aformentioned bullshit. Like Popular Places. I avoid both and wish I could remove them from my client. Further Opinions or observations in regards to classified ads
It's a food money sink but needs to more expensive on an AdSense llike scheme, which causes more drama. Which is more fun, and makes this board more entertaining.

I have used the classified ads when looking for stuff, and have gone to look at things a couple of times. Dont remember buying tho. I've also placed a couple of classfied ads. But can't tell if they yielded any sales. My gut feeling is that system hasn't reached critical mass of useful information, certainly not enough to overtake the drek. Its the chicken/egg dilema. If no one uses it, no one will want to pay for ads. But if no one pays for ads, there aren't any ads for people to use, so they stop using it. I'll prolly continuing running one ad, and rotate featured merchandise. To see what happens.

I would have to answer No to all above. But. I'm so swamped right now that I barely have time to do my work in SL since this feature has come about. For what it is worth, I plan on looking at them in the future, as well as placing an ad myself. No idea if that helps you any though! Despite that... Best wishes on your business!!
