I've noticed several unique species of sandbox denziens lately...

I was floating around today, just watching people build some neat stuff, when someone ran around shooting people... it was one of those weapons that traps you in a spider web. I mean, come on! Was this guy just trying to get banned?

And there was the nudist last night... this guy had on a grotesquely shaped nude body and was flooding the sim with crap... at one point, there must have been a hundred copies of his pyramid floating around... he'd filled the sim with them, going right over the top of other people's builds.

When I (kindly) asked if he could clean up, I was called a "F*er".

After a Liason showed up and MADE him clean up his mess, he walked over to a large group of us and rezzed another house right on top of us.... "What, I'm wearing a house on my head. What's the problem?"

Then there was the guy who left hundreds of pictures all over the place, along with an assorted collection of dildos.

Today, I found people working on bondage gear (while nude) and some guy running around shooting people with a gun that englobes them.

Are people always this... dumb? I find myself wondering why making trouble seems to be the national sport of Second Life.

Sandboxes need moderators.
I mean it. We need a Sandman Linden or Janitor Linden on hand to come eject dumbasses, clean up messes, remove user's items, and/or suspend people that shoot up people at random.

There have and always will be idiots in SL.

I think the majority of the greifers in SL are kids that somehow got ahold of mommy or daddys cc.

But anyone who does that BS in a PG/NS/NPVP area just wants to get hit with the ban stick.

Just have to deal with it and AR all that go agaisnt the TOS/CS .

People will flee in droves when an alternative appears.
It will primarily be because of customer satisfaction.

And here was me thinking that the furry guy with the peanut butter song was annoying. Did make me get the bananaphone out.

I hope so. I will be left all to myself! Perfect. :D

I'll be like the guy on Twilight Zone who finds himself to be the only one left and is so happy to be alone and free to read the whole library.

Then he steps on his glasses

We could always start another Sandbox Militia or two, and just start ejecting people... wait, nevermind...

I was just referencing that the other day! I've never seen the ep in question but it certainly is a grand example of a library in science fiction.

I've spent a lot of time in sandboxes...

have any of you ever seen the Open Source Metaverse Project? I was thinking about that the other day... I'm seriously considering installing it to fool around with, but it looks like it's kind of dead... the latest build is more than a year old.

I was just thinking that if we could host our own servers Peer to Peer style, we could host our own private sandboxes and our own private islands on our home PC's...

too bad it's not something Linden wants to let us do. A lot of the things LL advertises on the web site are simply impossible on a tier level of less than, say, $50 a month.

^ There's a related note to this. There are private sandboxes in SL that do have their own patrolpeople. I believe that's what will happen in an increasingly profuse way, like sweatdrops across the desert, in the future. Anshe Chung's Mature Sandbox is a good example.

We do need more areas like Mature Sandbox, with Officer-Level access to eject jerks, clean up messes, and help people with problems.

Now, if only we could keep them from crashing....
