I have no idea if this is the forum for this post but it seamed the best suited for it.

I've recently started a new group that I want to thrive and expand into a subculture. Now I want to see if there's an interest for it or if I'm alone in thinking this could work.

The basic idea is Vampirates, Vampires who are pirates, it's based on Justin Sompers books.

Below is some information that will be handed out to ppl who wish to join and should give you an idea of what it's all about.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

* First of all as Vampirate you get the fun of being a vampire but with the freedom of being a pirate. You will not be forced to follow any victorian bullshit. Vampirates come from all times, from the birth of man to the modern day, their is no specific way a vampirate should dress, you can be a reflection of the day you died or you can adopt modern day dressing or you can chose a pirate fashion.

* Each Vampirate is appointed a donor. That donor will be his or her responsibilty. Donors are mortals who reach immortality (they wont grow old) by sharing their blood with a vampirate, they are beneth us but respected for the gift they bring. If a vampirate for some reason stops taking blood from their donor, that donor will grow old to the age he or she would have been at that time. For example if a donor has exceeded it's lifetime he or she would die if they stopped Sharing.

The Vampirate Code:
A vampirate needs only share blood with his or her donor once a week to survive, to take more then is necsesary in that sharing is to break the vampirate code and be bansihed from the crew for all eternity.
The Sharing is a sacred act that takes place on the same day each week and is accompanied by a great feast (for the donors) and a one hell of a party.

*As a vampirate u will also be considered a pirate so you will adopt the pirate life for instance you will follow the chain of command and know your place in the crew.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

* As a donor you will be appointed to a Vampirate, that vampirate will be responisble for your safety and wellbeing. In return each donor shares their blood with their vampirate. The sharing takes place once a week and is accompanied by a great feast and a great party. All vampirates must follow a code that specifies that they are not allowed to take more blood then is needed to survive and to do so would result in imediate banishment from the crew.

* By becoming a donor you will leave your mortal life behind you. The sharing slows down your aging process and you will acheive a form of immortality. Though if for some reason the sharings stops taking place you will age to the age you would have been at that time. For instance if a donor exceeds his or her lifetime to stop sharing would be fatal.

* Other than at feast nights donors and vampirates are kept apart, this is not a rule but a recommendation for you own safety since vampirates are stronger beings and are pirates after all. Due to this donors are a close community with many traditions.

Ok so any thoughts would be appreciated!

* Each Vampirate is appointed a donor. That donor will be his or her responsibilty. Donors are mortals who reach immortality (they wont grow old) by sharing their blood with a vampirate,

The Vampirate Code:
The Sharing is a sacred act ... and is accompanied by a great feast

In return each donor shares their blood with their vampirate.

i dont know why ... *little smirk*

this kind of reminds me of the Last Supper ...

Jesus holds up the Chalice of His Blood and drinks ...

He takes the cup of wine, says grace,
and hands it around, saying this is my blood
of the 'covenant', which is poured for many.

the idea is that wine and bread are mystically transformed
into the blood and body of Christ

Jesus shares his Blood with each Apostle ...
they drink the "blood" and eat the "body" of Jesus.

Jesus' words refered to the Crucifixion
he was about to suffer, in order to atone for
humankind's sins ... and his resurrection ...
his rebirth, his immortality, his eternal life.

in the same way as Jesus did, Vampires also drink blood ...
the wine of the soul ... to also achieve rebirth, new life,
to be born again, for their resurrection, their immortality
and their eternal life.

drinking blood, or the symbol of drinking blood,
in order to achieve potency, or immortality,
is as ancient a custom as is human existance ...

down through the ages, almost every society,
before and since Jesus, has literally drank blood ...
Christians, Cathars, Carthaginians, Knights Templar,
Witches, Christian heretics, Romans, Wiccans, Druids,
Neopagans, Satanists, and Evangelical Missionaries.

The Anicient Scriptures are very specific about blood Sacraments:

Hebrews 9:22 ... "And almost all things are purified by blood
according to the law, and without shedding of blood
there is no forgiveness."

As St. Paul in his epistle to the Corinthians declares:
1Cor 10:16: "The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the
communion of the blood of Christ?"

At the Last Supper Jesus instructs his Apostles to receive
the power to consecrate, and to pass it on to the bishops
and priests that succeeded them ...
John 6:54: "Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood,
hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day."

to partake for the first time, the blood of a new eternal Covenant.
a mandate to go out into the whole world preaching the Gospel
to every creature.

Vampires have the same mandate as they go out into the world
passing the Covenant of Blood from one to another

the Bible, psychiatric studies, as well as literature,
are full of situations and cases of people who shed and
drink others blood ... somtimes to the point of murder.

these people, as well as the Apostles, admitted to incredible
"peace" after participating in these sacraments,
called "Communion"

(sounds like "commie", huh?)

Communion means to receive the Eucharist ...
to be in kind unity with God.
Holy Communion is food and drink to nourish the soul.

when one thinks about it ...

The Son of Man drank his OWN blood,
then shared it passing it to others to drink

the Covenant with Blood ... the Sacrament of drinking blood,
is about being in power, and having eternal life ...

as it was for Jesus and his Apostles in his time,
as it is for most christians today, the covenant with Blood,
is virtually the same Sacrament for eternal life, for all Vampires
for all times.

Jesus and Vampires drinking blood ...
its all pretty much the same thing for the same purposes.
