We all live in a grey world, sometimes it fill in with color, and texture, and sight, and sound, and wonderful things. We are born into the world grey, and fill in with such things.
And sometimes we're just fucking stuck.
The point? There isn't one. In a bad tea-induced trip I started a group for people to dress all in grey, carry grey gear, and spread peace, discord, harmony, chaos, etc in world.
If anyone's interested in a new fetish/meme/cheap style, you can join 'loading...' by searching for in Find > Groups. Free goodies in the him of Pi, look for the big grey jeep (and big green radar thing).
I can't guarantee anything but a little fun.

Ever notice that if you're in a build with really claustrophobic geometry, panning the camera too fast can make the build disappear so you're standing in mid-air with no prims attached? one trick, if it really is that bad, might be to set a really low video card... if you tell it you have a 16 meg card, i don even think it bothers tryin to download the 512 or 1024 textures, it only botheres with the 256x256 reduced sizes of them, which could significantly speed up yer downloading (tho will significantly blurry up parts of the world).. its a trade off

I have a 128mb card, it runs okay, some bug with women on my freinds list not fully rendering (WTF). But we all know the prank where we dress all in grey and pretend the asset server is hosed. This is taking it one step further. Like Blue Man Group or something. We can have color, but most of the gear would be covered in the loading texture.
