I have been busy building some furniture, and am almost ready to advertise for them in the forum. But have a question on size. I am going to be taking snapshots and putting them into photoshop to complete them, but what should I export it to, including size and resolution, for ease of use in the forums?

Someone probably will be able to answer better than me, but I'd say you're safe with GIF or JPG and as long as you don't make it too high-resolution, I wouldn't go much bigger than 800x600.

When you snap a picture directly to your hardrive it will be a bmp; inworld textures save as tga files. I usually open them in PSP, resize to 1024 or 512 across then save them as jpgs to upload to the forum.
Saving snaps directly to your drive will not cost you the 10 linden upload fee because the image doesn't have to be sent to The Central Asset System All Hail The Central Asset System. _____________________

I find that a picture 500 pixels horizontal fits well.

One trick I like using is uploading the images to a free hosting site like Imageshack.net so I can display the images in the body of the message without having those little built in forum links at the bottom.

Looks like width of 512 has worked for me without making things too bulgy, but then again, the default width of the SL Forums isn't trained to adapt to bigger screen resolutions. There's that darker bluespace on the sides, which is kind of at odds... now I understand 800x600, but SL itself is optimized for 1024x768 (certain windows like Find get chopped off otherwise)... for a quick and communal method, Dueling, I'd have some fun with Snapzilla.

One really nice feature of the Opera web browser is that is can enlarge the display of a web site - so instead of having that wasted space on the sides that I need filled up so much because of my old eyeballs I get to see this website filll the space without having to keep my screen resolution at 800 by 600.
