Someone in the Scripters of Second Life group says they know someone who has a script that pays them money from nowhere, in the amount of 500 lindens per click. This alleged script is supposedly housed in a dollar bill object.

From: Frans Charming In other words, i don't believe it. I don't believe it either. If one does have such a script, and is willing to risk using it, I would suggest the use of AutoIt or some other mouseclick program in order to reduce the chance of getting carpal tunnel syndrome.

This story was told as if it was true by someone in the Scripters of SL group. They claimed to have seen a neighbor making the magic money, a real life neighbor.
It could be a person with multiple acounts playing tricks on a neigbor, transferring money from one acount to the other.
There don't seem to be too many problems with our linden accounts reported, unlike every other aspect of the program's performance.

I'm not doubting you heard it - I'm doubting that the script exists.
the only way for a script to give money to someone is from the object owner.
The only way I can think of for that to work is if an object was owned (not created) by 'nobody'. How you'd make an object with 'noone' and be able to get modify rights to place a script in it - I don't know, but I'm guessing it would fail.
Also in order pay money - the object owner must have given debit permissions - so even if I had the object 'noone' when I activated the script 'noone' wouldn't be able to approve permissions for money to be paid.
It seems very very unlikely.
