Hi and bye to you all, on this the last night of teh official SL forums, i will miss them, i will miss being able to see who's birthday it is, i have been fortunate to meet som eof my best friends in Sl as a direct result of forum post. i have also had the misfourtune of witnessing some of the worst petty mean spirited attacks i have seen anywhere, people i am proud to call friend in world would turn into mean spirited, nasty, cruel trolls on the forums, it has always made me wonder, which is the real person, and which is the act? the kind friendly person i talk to inworld? or the creature i see here, sniffing for the blood of their chosen targets?
LL has decided that the Forums are a lost cause, well as much as i hate to see them go, they may be right as long as people continue to throw simple rules of civility out the window just because they can do it without fear of rl reprisal, there is not much hope. Do not think that i think it should be G rated, but the increasing nastiness of the attacks all in the name of " I have a right to state my opinion, if you don't like it . don't read it" has gone beyond any kind of Adult behavior. The trend of airing everyone's dirty laundry for teh public which has been getting worse here, will only continue to become even more popular on the uncountable blogs which are the wave of the future, now that LL will have no direct control over nameing names. YAY Freedom! i can now slam anybody i want! i can tell everyone what a SOB someone is! No more evil repression of my need to spew my venom for all to see! Dammit i have a right to express my opinion and oh well if people get hurt, to bad for them, they need to toughen up, and oh well, it's not my fault people read it, i didn't force them to!
Sighs, i just had my 2nd rezzday last weekend, and it has been a great 2 years, and much of that good time was spent here, in the forums and i will miss them, i have no plans to go to any other site, so this is pretty much my farewell to you all, and that makes me sad, i have lost to many old friends, and to lose a entire community in one fell swoop truely makes me cry, and i have absolutly no interest in going to any of the 3rd party sites, primarly because they are just that, 3rd party sites, and frankly, none has shown me that they are willing to use their new freedom with the responsibilty that is suposed to come with it.
So, bless you all even those i have dissagreed with.
May you all find the happiness you deserve!
and i hope that just maybe the events of teh last week will make peopel stop and think about the people involved before they feel the need to give their opinion. but sadly, i think that that is a forlorn hope!
i truely love so many of you here and will miss you dearly.

Awwww ... I will miss your posts here Clio. You are a bright spirit in a sometimes dark place. I too have been saddened by recent events and the by way people have conducted themselves on the forums. I wish the forums were staying, but I am sure we will find a new place - and maybe a place with fewer harsh worlds. Well, one can hope.

I think your closing remarks do a slight injustice to sluniverse, where Cristiano has moderated with a light touch, and which remains a relatively sane place in comparison with what some other forums have become. _____________________

I think your closing remarks do a slight injustice to sluniverse, where Cristiano has moderated with a light touch, and which remains a relatively sane place in comparison with what some other forums have become. well That very well could be true, and i have no reason to doubt either you or Cristano, both of whom i know, like, and respect, but it is not for me. i hope it remains a sane place, and honestly, if i were to go anywhere, sluniverse would be the most likely place because a. i already have a account there and b. as you say Cristano does moderate it. and c. i think because of snapzilla, it would for me have the closest feeling of the community i am loseing here. As i said, i have no plans of going elsewhere, maybe in a few weeks i'll feel differently, but the crapfest that i have witnessed this weekend has pretty much put me off any kind of 3rd party sites for awhile _____________________
