This may not be news to most of you, but if you are focussed on a person and they walk away or go elsewhere, your camera follows them.

That caught me by surprise, especially when the person I was looking at (alt+mouse zoom) got ejected from a club and I suddenly ended up looking at the backside of a desert instead of the club - even though my av was still there.

Similarly, I was looking at a person and then the camera followed them out of the club, into the shops and further. Fascinated, I left things as they were and watched, just to see how far it would go. I mean, if you were so inclined you could "go" to some interesting places by this method.

Eventually I got bored and gave up. Is there a limit to how far the camera follows another person?

I have a rather large piece of land in SL and I use this to keep an eye on people that show up on the other side of my property while I am hanging out talking with friends at one end (by the water). I just pan over to them (using the Client // Disable Camera Constraints thing Trvis mentioned) and then focus on them.

Then I just keep chatting with friends while I keep an eye on that person. As long as they behave I have no prob with them looking around my land. But if they start mischief, I already have them in my sights and can freeze/ban them almost instantly.

Plus it's kind of fun to watch someone enjoy the builds on my land. :)

The limit under Disable Camera Constraints is your draw distance. So yes, there is a limit.
