Don't be surprised if when you all get the the convention, a Linden steps up to the mic and ask that you all be seated and dutifully explains that the Convention is now closed, but you are able to stay put and view the Lindens Office Party through a one-way glass window: (Curtain behind stage opens to reveal a large glass window where you can see balloons and streamers hanging from the ceiling) The announcer then drops the mic and quickly picks it back up to let you know that you will be able to also hear what's going on in the Linden Party Room but they will not hear or see you...HOWEVER, you are free to write down your hellos and comments on a notecard and drop it in the slot to the left of the large glass window. (Now you start to hear the music in the party room, the base is bangin' and the lights dim. The disco ball illuminates and starts to spin...slowly at first as it picks up speed). You raise you hand hoping to get a word in about this, but for some reason, the announcer seems unaware of your presencse and continues speaking in an almost robotic tone. (You now see a few a Lindens entering the party room. Some with wine bottles in hand, others with party hats...one with a pink sock.) The announcer closes out the speech and quickly retires to the party room closing and locking 8 locks one at a time along the door. Some of you approach the window with comments and questions in hand. Some place the comments in the slot on the wall and watch the small piece of paper fall to the ground on the others side and other hold the paper up to the glass while steadily banging and tapping hoping to maybe get Torley's attention. But alas, they cannot see or hear you. Philip picks up a couple of the comments from the floor and appears to read them as beer splashes on them from across the room. He jots something down on a piece of paper and nudges it through the slot. The SLCC attendees scramble to get the paper and read aloud the message which says, "Please contact Live Help" Every so often a Linden might scratch some words on a paper such as "Please send an email to abusemanager@lindenlab.com" or "Please refer to the TOS" But no conversation or communication. Just generic responses. Everyone just sits and watches the Lindens through that one-way glass until it's time to go...and go they shall. Story by MadamG Zagato Illustrations by my Invisible Pen

What about email support and get a generic reply, or call our toll free number that we never answer!

I get it. Cause the forums are closing, so you wrote a story about how everything is closing and how we will reply in a well behaved mannor, only to be silence commically by a reference that doesn't really have to do with the topic, but is used just because it's funnier then a real answer. Fucking gold right there.

Somehow I doubt that.

Sounds eerily like a certain story that already occured....though one needs to replace 'LL' with 'SLC 2005'.

You in fact dont rank in my list neither on the 'miss' nor 'not-miss' list. I also hear the 2007 SLCC might be missing your presence. One can only hope, eh? Perhaps then the SLC will finally be deserving of the 'C' for 'Community. - Newfie

- Newfie Its not secret that Flipper and I are not going to be organizing next years convention. Too much work and we would like to be able to do other things in Second Life once again. We've spent the better part of the past year working on the SLCC 05 and 06. This is not to say that we won't be involved in some other minimal capacty, but obviously not to the extent that we have been in the past.

Check your firewall
Check your connection
Are you on a wireless connection?
See what else is running on your machine, because OUR program would never be the source of YOUR lag.
Have you paid your cable/dsl bill?

Love the 'wireless connection' one. I'm normally hard wired, but for two weeks I'm elsewhere and using the same PC, but wireless. Net performance difference? None that I can detect. Still, always good to have that extra fob off to hand isn't it?

SL heavily uses UDP, and wireless very easily loses packets due to interference.
