Got my first land, and have some questions:)

Hello guys and gals
I brought my first land last night
816 sm. for 4600 L

ok I have some questions.

how do i put up a radio station, and can i play my own cds?

can i change the name on my land?

what do i do if someone is building on my land?

Do i make money when alot of people on my land?

You would have to have your own server to be able to set a station up. You could either use server software on your pc, or use a hosting co.



Right-click your land, select 'about land', 'general' tab. In the top field you can enter the name for the parcel.



If you don't want them building there, you can:

1. Disable 'create objects' in 'about land' > 'options.
2. Enable 'autoreturn' on the same menu. This will return any prims not owned by you.

I don't I'm afraid :/ I would suggest chatting to some of the DJ's and club owners, they would be far more knowledgable on the subject.

check out http://www.spacialnet.com/ for streaming music and the like.

Also try http://www.shoutcast.com/

You don't have to, of course - with appropriate rights (which you have as owner), you can plug in a media stream from about any URL you can find in WinAmp and it should work. You'll be listening to other people's streams of course, but a lot of them are commercial radio streams and pretty good.

And I'll second the comments about auto-return. With it set to "1", anyone's prims but yours will be sent back to their inventory in 1 minute. Set it to "0" is setting it off (eg, nothing is returned). I recommend this due to the people who are either unscrupulous, cheap or clueless who will come by and try to build things on your land without paying a tier fee.
