First Duran Duran comes to Second Life, now the forums are closing. Coincidence? Oh, I think not. Don't think we've forgotten your role in the "A View to a Kill" soundtrack, fuckers! -Pall D2's declared intention to buy an island and perform in SL is nothing more than more of LL's planned corporate takeover. You don't think those has-beens are doing that by themselves? Their recording label is behind it, and will be pushing their other artists in SL as soon as D2 finishes their gig -- the island will be redesigned for the next "name" performer, with billboards, special promos, and online marketing blitz on the web and in-world. Browser functionality was the death-knell of SL. And you thought they just wanted you to order PIZZA? _____________________
SL used to be a game -- now it's a corporate advertising/marketing platform.

Having all of these label crusties come in to SL makes me want to be more active in promoting music with roots. Music that moves and incites a response above and beyond drooling on one's own shoes. More Reggae!! More Punk!! Ska!! Swamp Funk!! Blues!! Neo-Classical!! Underground Hip Hop!!! FUCK!!! MAHLER!!!!! WAGNER!!!!!!!!!! SOMETHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
