I wonder how many people visit SL to meet their family members far away? Or even not so far away? It would be great fun to have my cousins over (must work on the persuasion technique) or indeed have a chat with Mum in an interesting new place without having to travel or spend money. Ooh just thought - imagine going clubbing with her :)

That is what the Fae Folk Group is (after Dark is our home in Jouppi). 23 members of 1 RL family from 2 countries. :)

My little brother lives in Venezuela and we frequently meet in-world just so we can *hang out* :) Nice change from the usual phone or chat :)

I'm looking forward to hanging out with my nephew...as soon as he's done building his rockin' pc...
But I am the only computer savvy person in my family of origin (compared to them anyway)...the rest are still stuck in the stone age.

Hoping he'll be in world soon. :)

If I invited my family that lives all over the country it would greatly increase SL's population lol. However, after failing to even get them to sign up on instant messager because of various reasons like computer illiterate, can't afford a computer, too busy, ect....I'm not going to attempt to get them to join SL.

My oldest daughter does turns 13 next June and she's looking forward to joining the TG.

MJ :)

If, in your travels around SL, you encounter a tiny purple warthog wearing a tiara and wings, say howdy . . . that's my mom. :)

Now THIS - this would make one damn fabulous story! This and the stories below, of which I've read only one so far. I'm going to suggest this in the PR Suggestion Box.

I so wish. Everyone in my family thinks I'm crazy for being an SLer. My brother is still on dial-up, my cousins "have lives", my mom doesn't know how to turn on a computer. *shrugs* Oh well, I have enough "family" ingame and am quite content. :)

Of course it's possible family members are already here and haven't introduced themselves. *makes careful note of anyone admitting to be from Yorkshire*.

My 20yo daughter tried out SL, but her computer couldn't handle it. It's a shame too, as she lives in Wisconsin, and I'm in Texas.

I'm in California, my brother (Art Laxness) is in England. It's been wonderful to collaborate on stuff despite being 8 time zones apart.
