Speaking of scams, /. has an interesting story about a ponzi like scheme going bellup in eve online, costing some 700 billion ingame currency losses which resulted n death threats etc. Wonder when this would happen here.

This isn't a pyrimid scheme.

Just a basic scam of, in a pile of freebee stuff thats sells for 0, you may find one that sells for 10. (where it's not supposed to be basically)

If your not paying attention you lost 10L, for a box of what should have been free junk too.

It seems people place these around free stuff to collect cash.

To me it's scamming, cause on the second window there's no option to cancel.

10L isn't much, but to a noob with almost no cash it's annoying.

What I find annoying is a certain popular individual who has a ton of "freebies" all on sale for 1 L, although the text above it all says "free". Sure, most of us won't cry at losing 1 L, but as stated above, the new peeps might find it a pain.

And you know who I mean. The big blue guy with statues of himself. *wink* (Avoids saying names here.)

And yes, I'm relatively new, but eh.

He also keeps his newbie money tree fully stocked with cash, so I think it balances out.

He's also supporting a pretty sizable piece of land for it and you can't easily track how well things that are totally free are doing. I would agree that it's generally bad to be charging for freebies but I don't think 1L counts.

What's worse is that new players are constantly trying to swap me freebies for my stuff, I can forgive them some as they haven't got a grip on the economy yet.

I have it when people place one of those dollar sign prims saying "buy me and make lots of money". It's a scam where you then place the copy somewhere and sell more copys.
