Level of detail

is it me or is the Level of detail in SL been culled? as I zoom out prims quickly loose there shape and turn all polygony.. Im sure it wasnt this way yesterday though that could be me o.o

Have you tried turning up your 'object detail' slider in the preferences? Sometimes a circle will look like a hexagon if you're far away from it, but as you zoom it, it becomes a circle again. If you turn the slider up, you will see it as a circle from farther away.

Thats just it! its like SL is behaving as though I have the Detail sliders down.. but I have em all up full :/

They might have lowered the max you can slide them. I'm not sure though.

i usually keep my detail sliders alll the way down for fps' sake... but i was finding a real mixture of hi and low detail still being rendered, and at varying distances. just a display bug, fortunately - maybe part of the culling system...
