Apart from the $22 quarterly bill and $5 tier fees I've spent about $40 on lindens. The price of one of those many unread books.

How much money did you spend on SL in your first month? As I enter my fifth week I wonder if I've been a bit tight. Perhaps I should have bought a larger piece of land. Agonising over buying another L$10000 when in real terms that's about twenty quid. I've bought games I never played for that. Books I've never read. I bought a ceramic piece for 450 quid the other week (in RL). Imagine how many Lindens that could buy. And I never even look at that ceramic now. My face is permanently fixed on my monitor!

When I think of the amount of money I spend per month on SL, compared to how much I'd spend otherwise if I went out instead, it's not such a bad deal.
A normal person would probably spend what I spend monthly on SL on an average evening out, and that's just one day instead of a whole month of unlimited (except, of course, for Wednesdays) access to SL, and the limitless potential that there is of things to do and build and enjoy. What is it now? £3 a pint? £5 for a packet of cancer sticks? £15 for a CD? £8 to see a film? £5.49 for an all you can eat buffet with salad at pizza hut? At least, it makes me feel less guilty for spending all that money on a computer game. Lewis _____________________

If I hadn't read that news story on the BBC website a month ago about SL and registered for a basic account I would certainly have sent more on books or going out or... more pots! SL has saved me money! Now I can buy more lindens guiltlessly ![]() Albion |

All someone has to do is stop purchasing their coffee (especially Starbucks!) out and make it at home to be able to afford to be a huge player in SL. Let's see... I used to drink one Starbucks coffee a day at say $3. Four weeks in a month, five work days.... that comes to $60 US. Take out my monthly fee...$50.... that is aproximately L$14,000 + $2,000 for your stipend. Hmmm maybe I should save tht calculation off for people that keep trying to mooch money from me?
