So there must be some people who have been prepared for the release and just need to switch the lights on!

So any cool builds out there which do make cool use of lights already? Please post!

And THIS RELEASE ROCKS! :-)

I just added some lights to Club Camarilla and did a little video in there. Wow! What a difference to before! Hope to post it soon (like tomorrow).

*keeping an eye on this*

I haven't seen a good, filthy rave warehouse since late '04... I'm hoping I'll come across a new one, one of these days--with the new Lighting system in tow. :)

I added lights to my photo gallery (Duke's Diggs - listed in places). It looks really cool at night with the stained glass windows and the different light colors.

It's just a shame that prims don't block light...

I can foresee "always night-time" islands becoming popular. :)

I don't know if Rainbow Tower in Wainscot qualifies as "cool" but I have been putting in local lighting all over the place there.

Hehe, I just spent ages last night tinkering with a particle fire that flickers using the new light features (oranges and yellows), just to get the flickering feel as real as I could. I felt all warm and cosy. It's on Lucidity, near the middle of the sim if anybody wants to pull up a log (actually, I really should put some logs out for people to sit on)

I've spent the last few days coding scripts for lights. Now with the new lighting feature, I am extatic as to how my club is going to look.

Even came up with a way to sort-of fake the light put out by a spot light. Still cautious about how much local lighting I use though. With 2 spots, 3 orbs, two giant strobes, and more lights to come, I think if I put local lighting on all of them... at least *my* computer system would croak.

Only the nearest 4 lights will be treated as lights, so people overstuffing lighting shouldn't really be much of an issue I suspect.

However, less is definitely more with the lighting and it looks cool as beans :D

LOL, it's out pretty much in the middle of the sim Lucidity. I've set it for sale for L$1 (it's copyable but no transfer) so feel free to pick one up :)

Steve Linden, the primary developer for the new lighting, has some great examples in his castle in Westport, including a free script and information on using the new lighting system:

I've put some log chairs out around the camp fire now - the lighting looks great as it flickers on the chairs :)

Here's a slurl to it: Lucidity

There's also a pic on Snapzilla here: Cosy Camp Fire

PS> You can right click and buy the camp fire or log chairs for L$1 if you want copies.
