I just wanted to address what the broadcaster said about players of sl possibly neglecting their rl (paraphrased).
I guess this could be or is a problem for some but in my case I really appreciate and cherish what platforms like sl afford me. I am a stay at home mom of 3 school age kids. I am also partially disabled and cannot work outside the home unless I could find a job that allowed me the flexibility to sit, stand, walk and lay down, when *I* need to and so far I have not found a job like that. With that being said, my condition also effects my social life to a degree. For others in the same boat, platforms such as SL afford us the opportunity to have more of a *normal* social life and I cannot begin to express what good that does for my *mood*. I am a much happier person, mother and wife when able to regularly socialize with other people and not feel *stuck* at home. My home is not neglected nor is my family. Actually they are less neglected because I am able to get adequate *outside* stimulation and spend less time in a funk.
So to SL I give a heart filled thanks!!

Good points! I've been a stay-at-home mom for ages now, and I just wish I had had internet when my babies were little. To hell with anybody who doesn't like it, says I. I don't know how people figure watching TV is so much more having a life than doing SL or other internet games. Or reading a book. Or scrapbooking, or any other escapist activity. However, this attitude will diminish over time, as people figure it out. coco

From: Lacey Fardel I just wanted to address what the broadcaster said about players of sl possibly neglecting their rl (paraphrased). This is absolutely true! Go back to sitting on the couch and watching TV for 10 hours a day so that you don't neglect your RL (or Fox News!)

This is why people should get their news from Fox News with the same grain of salt they should take when they get relationship advice from Jerry Springer....

WOW. In the piece, the newsperson said what she said about wondering why people would favor Secondlife over doing more in Reallife, but afterwards, she turned back to the screen and said, 'yes but in real life, you can't fly!' Indicating that she would probably favor secondlife too or at least understand why.
I don't see why people insist on bashing Fox News so much over this little bit... Every thread on here has has an undertone of hatred of Fox News when the piece was overall pretty positive!
