This is a general poll to see how many people might want a service like this.

Currently you can order pizza from in-game in World of Warcraft. Using the poll options, what would be the interest in this kind of service for Second Life?

If you could find a way to get Chicken Kitchen to deliver to my condo (I moved less than 2 miles away from my old place in the same zip code and they won't deliver), I will finance your operaitons :)

Yes, and with HTML coming to SL, it won't be a big deal to do :)

Yes, but only if I can also pay for the food with my L$.

Oh wait... I'm still gonna have to get up from the computer to answer the door, huh?

I'm sure the idea would do well. At least with a certain section of user.

It kind of fits in with the image of over-weight, sedentary geeks living on fat-drenched pizza in a darkened room. Feral beasts who turn angry should their gaming be interrupted by anything as inconvenient as having to prepare themselves a meal or even having to lift the phone (which is probably a painful effort for them, their wrists ravaged by RSI, their neck crooked from leaning over their desk for 12 hour stints and their voice hoarse from getting over-excited on Skype with their MMORPG friends).

So yeah, in virtual worlds the next growth market will no doubt be pizza delivery now the porn bases are all covered.

I'm assuming this would require offering real life info such as name, address and CC numbers, so not a chance!

Seems like there's a good number of people who might take advantage of a service like this.

The system would roughly work like this.

There will be in-game stores. You choose the kind of food you want, pizza, chinese, whatever. At that point you enter your zip code and it searches our backend database for available stores in your area.

Upon finding available stores, you will be presented with a menu of available items with the currencies displayed in both $USD and $L equivalent(based on the current exchange rate). When you decide what you want, you are presented with an input to include your address for food delivery.

At this point you pay the in-game store in $L dollars. No credit card needed. An additional service fee is added to the order for using our ordering service. Tipping the delivery person is up to you.

We place the order for you on the backend, either online or by phone, that's up to us.

So that's the breakdown of the business model. Any additional feedback now?

You could also give out vendors so people could carry a menu with them so they don't have to go to your in world store after they have visited once ;)

There is something extremely fitting about the idea of pizza delivery via SL.

Awesome you are considering a setup with inworld currency payment possible. :)

Biggest roadblock I see is getting any major chain or privately owned location to come on board. Though that Take Out Taxi service, (model of call them up, place your order from a bunch of different places, they get it and deliver at a decent markup) is still around and expanding.
