I have noticed in the year that I have been in Second Life the population has grown by over 50,000.

I see it grow daily. But I also notice that when I look at club members in a certain club, some users have not been on in months and months.

I also know that members have alts. Several accounts. So my question I guess is this: when an account is not used say for a year, does LL get rid of those accounts? Guess I just wonder what the REAL population is without the alt accounts and accounts that are sitting unused.

Just wondering....

From most accounts, the population number on the front page, is all the active SLers within the last 30-60 days. Active meaning have logged in at least once within the last 30-60 days.

The real population is unknown. Accounts never expire.
