Without a standard, it's kind of hard to make shoes/boots to fit properly since the SL avatars are all different body shapes, so i'm asking for you men out there to help determine some sort of standard shoe makers can go by.

Thank you

A question arose to me after asking some males what shoe size do they wear, out of 6 men, all of them had different answers ranging from 13 to 61. Is there some sort of recognizable standard for the male feet in the game (like women have size 0 and 9)?

To be honest I don't know what my shoe size is. I do however prefer to be able to resize the shoe to fit me(talking prim shoes here). I hate the look of non prim shoes.
What I would like to see is a decent pair of men's prim dress shoes to be worn with suits. Casual, business, etc. Have never found any in game so far. |

I'm a sprite and we don't wear shoes; so I don't have any preference.

Sylfie, my feet are like forty-five, and prim shoes are a pain. i have even had problems with size 0 prim shoes too. I kknow prim shoe smake the feet loolk bigger, so maybe 30 is a good choice, or 50. Most male avis in SL are really tall, so larger feet are more proportionate.

The women standards suck. Makes us look like we have Barbie feet and are about to fall over at any moment. Hope the fellas work it out better.

Most prim shoes tend to look too large (especially on women) so I normally reduce my feet down to 0 and then resize the shoe as small as possible. Barefoot or with texture shoes I shoot for around 20-25. I size my feet up until the pointy part around the ankle smooths out then stop.

Last night, for a wedding I was a flower girl in, I made myself a 13 year old avie. She looked pretty good, except for the fact that even at 0, her feet with prim shoes on were way big for a 13 year old. So, while we're on feet and shoes, is there any way to make the feet look even smaller?

So, while we're on feet and shoes, is there any way to make the feet look even smaller? You could use invisible prims to construct your shoes. These are already being used these days to create impossible high heel shoes by hiding the portion of your feet that are exposed between the sole and high heel. You could use these to hide parts of your feet to make ever smaller prim shoes. _____________________

I usually have my feet at around 20 because I have a tall AV and the tiny feet look silly. Most of the shoes I have require me to shrink the foot size down to 0, which makes the ankles really really fugly and knobby. Some of my favorite sandals fit well with a size 16, which is small enough not to make the feet like huge, and doesn't make the ankles wonky, so I wear those the most.

I'm not outrageously tall or anything, but my feet are something like size 35, which looks pretty proportionate when I'm barefoot. I rarely buy no-mod shoes because I look really silly with teeny tiny feet. Most of the time I just go barefoot. I'd buy more prim shoes if they came in a variety of sizes, not just 0.... I like my big feet.

Sylfie - I love your shoes BTW. I just have such big darn old country feet and would look pretty silly with size 0 so I really like having the option to modify shoes and have pretty much stopped buying any shoes that cannot be modified to size for my big old flippers.

Awwww Rose, I'm currently designing some size 9 shoes at this point for those with larger feet with thoughts about going to a 3rd size standard as well, which is why i am taking polls right now. ![]() _____________________

So while we are talking about shoes, is there a reason all the shoes pretty much look the same -- with impossibly high heals and the like? I'm not saying there aren't alternatives because there are. But what about doc martins? What about chucks? What about flats? What about flat ankle boots? These things are increasingly hard to find. Also why are shoes no mod when you need to mod them and need to be able to drop in a walk script?

I have no idea what size my feet are, but judging by the rest of me, they must be pretty damn big.

Most shoes I've gotten are designed for a 0 on the slider. Only some sorts of shoes "work" for me when I scale them upward, in stark contrast to hats, which usually do well.
Vivianne, there's lots more kinds of footwear out there—have you seen Aimee and Ushu's popular Moshies? ![]() _____________________

Can change patterns on them, a nice change from the heels I have. _____________________
