A blog per Linden vs. a forum per Linden employee

What is there about blogs that would make it better for Linden employees to have a blog than the Linden employess to have a forum of their own?

For example, there could be a Philip Linden forum, a Cory Linden forum, etc. When the employee had something new to say they would start a new thread. The forum could be made repliable or not as the particular Linden employee wished. I think the forum software will let you choose whether responses appear automatically or go into a moderation queue, again that is selectable on a per forum basis, I think.

Hmm, the blog comment entry doesn't allow for quoting other comments automatically, maybe that helps keeps the focus on the Linden's words instead of talking with other users.
